WHAT WE DO:
Chickens, Turkeys, Ducks, and Geese are just a few examples of poultry. This project teaches members production and marketing by managing projects. Project topics include turkeys, egg production, and development from egg to chick. Activities include parts identification, species and breeds, selection, exploring an egg, feather features, cooking eggs, feeding, handling, washing and showing.
The following subject matters are explored in depth:
- Pecking order
- feeding
- eggs
- showing
- responsible poultry ownership
Meeting Dates/Times:
3rd Friday of the month
5:30pm
Requirements/Restrictions:
Members under the age of 10 may need a parent/guardian to stay for the duration of the meeting to help facilitate the member's experience. Open to Primary members (ages 5-8) as well.
